On March 9, 2022, the partners of Armbruster Dripps Blotevogel (“ADB”) obtained a $1,950,000 verdict for a union carpenter. The carpenter lost the tip of the thumb on his non-dominant hand when a 5,000 pound counterweight suddenly dropped as he was disassembling scaffolding used during a construction project. ADB’s partners showed that Madison Industrial Team Service boilermakers carelessly suspended the counterweight by not properly tightening the clamps that held it in place.
The jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of the carpenter, and found no negligence on his part.
